  6. you really don't know who it is? or are you having a wee joke?

  7. Of course I'm joking. Do you have q tips in England? The kind for cleaning ears?

  8. @ steenbeck - this side of the pond, we call them cotton buds...

  9. Was it the new Q-Tip?
I think Steenbeck went in line to vote some time yesterday night and still hasn't come back.

  10. Yes it is the new Q-tip. I like the whole album, but this is the most instantly accessible song and I'm addicted to it. As well as Mos Def's Travelling Man, which got NO LOVE.

So in England you miss a big part of the meaning of his name!

And I did vote today, and I'm out of my mind with anxiety. I can't even really talk about it rationally.

  11. ...but I like the idea of a UK rapper called MC Cotton Buds!

We're all with you tonight steen - and I have absolute confidence that I'll wake up tomorrow to the news of President Obama's victory. Keep the faith...

  13. But, ejay, wouldn't you have needed to be born in a log cabin to qualify? Steenbeck, we're proud of America tonight. I think you can safely go to sleep now.

  14. Anyway, ejay, I think the spawn of Laura Bush and that sap-sucking, swivel-headed monstrous alien from the planet Neocon beat you to it eight years ago.

  15. Just thought I'd pop over here and say well done to you steenbeck and the rest of the US electorate. I remember your anxiety, even across cyber-space, when that silly Sarah Palin (Sarah who ???) was chosen by McCain and some people thought she might bring out the Republican vote.

It was scary to think about the international impact of another Republican term, and the long-term impact of who McCain would've put in the Supreme Court. Hooray !

In the past few weeks I've missed RR but also enjoyed less time in front of a computer. Back soon though.

  17. Gah, tallest would still be cool. I've made my peace with it.

  18. ejaydee, Abe Lincoln was 6' 4" (1.93m)and you have to beat him to become the tallest. How tall are you?

  19. @ proudfoot - I'm almost embarassed to know that Paul Young's first band was Streetband. Anyone remember their first and only hit?

  20. Toffeeboy, that would be "(A Little Bit Of) Toast". Best thing he did by a country mile.
