  3. Everybody wants to be a cat,
because a cat's the only cat
    who knows where it's at.
Everybody's pickin' up on that feline beat,
    'cause everything else is obsolete.

  8. Cool For Cats - Squeeze (I know it's not really about felines but what the hey!)

Farmyard Cat - Prefab Sprout - probably my least favourite Sprout track but then, that's a bit like saying my least favourite Everton goal...

The High Llamas (well, actually Sean O'Hagan) have (has) a track with the wonderful name of Half Face Cat.

And we certainly can't ignore Sufjan Steven's The Year Of The Asthmatic Cat - but then why would we want to?

  16. Dave Evans - Lady Portia (his cat) I can only remember snippets and sprog is preventing access to the CD collection so here are some bits:

    "Oh my Lady Portia
You're the praise of all his nights
    And all his days
    Where have you been?

...You put the warm light in his eyes
    With your loving...

Only you can take his midnight
And in the morning make him whole again..."

Too much distraction to recall the words but it's a great song!

  18. Nothing to do with cats (oh, alright, Black Cat by Broadcast, who are apparently working on a new album), but…

Public service announcement: there's a handful of tickets – about a dozen – left for David Byrne at the Barbican. Just in case anyone is interested…

  19. Th'Legendary Shack Shakers - Creek Cats.Jets To Brazil - Cat Heaven.Janet Jackson - Black Cat. Yes I'm serious; loved that guitar.
Simon & Garfunkel - Feline Groovy. No, of course I'm not.
Anyone remember the band Feline? I absolutely loved the song Release; bought the album on the strength of that alone.

I'm too tired for RR tonight; goodnight all.

  20. I've got a Venetian Snares EP called "Songs About My Cats" - I mean there aren't any lyrics , just the usual pummeling tech-step, but it does have song titles like "Fluff Master" and "Bobo".
