Gremlin's post about the first album he bought got me thinking and then digging out my scrapbox from the attic, and I'm pleased to say it was still there - I'm referring to the notebook I nerdishly kept as a teenager in which I logged all the albums I bought. So as an act of self-exposure (and potentially embarrassment) here are the first 30 albums I ever bought.

@Blimpy - it would be 'Fear Of Music', by a short nose, ahead of 'Lionheart & 'Led Zeppelin IV'.

There's at least two albums on that list that I would have sworn blind, until finding the notebook today, that I'd never even heard. let alone owned.

ReplyDeleteI'm never certain what the first album I bought of my own accord was. I have a strange feeling, though, that I went to the Virgin Records in Stockport sometime around 1993 and came away with a double header of Pump by Aerosmith and Bon Jovi's Keep the Faith. Not big or clever, but I'd still listen to Pump today I reckon.
As for your notebook of albums, I actually have to say I quite admire it and wish i had one the same. Lost days...
I had a recipe box of index cards for my albums in the early days. I think I loved it more than my albums.
