where people sit for hours...

God bless the cameraphone! I passed this "60's ballad and acoustic guitar" themed bar on my way home yesterday.

(if anyone can come up with something better than my extremely lame title...)

    Where Everybody Knows Your Name

  2. Or:

Just the place for a quick stiffener.

  3. Or:

"Come and try out famous White Russian!!"

    Or, no, is that horrible?

  6. You know that all American radio stations have a 4 letter call sign, East of the Mississippi they begin with W and west with K, there was a station in Long Beach where I used to hang out, it's call sign was KNOB, it was the jazz knob!

  7. Or perhaps I should have said:

    Where Everybody Knows You're Game

  8. They could have gone with "The knob & balls" to make it sound more pub-like at least.

  10. When I first moved to Bournemouth (I was going to say: I came across.. but I'll re phrase that) we discovered a lot of pubs called 'The Dorset Knob' never once did we laugh.

    now I'm in Norfolk:
Many would like to enter 'The Cock Inn'
but my favorite for the more solitary drinker:
    'Cock & pullet'
as I'm a grown up I don't find this at all funny ..he he he.

  11. My favourite club/bar (not sure, never fancied actually going inside) near us in Odakyu-Sagamighara was called Virgin Swing. Over the road was Bar Janis, Club Nightmare and Bar Moussy.

  12. I think "Just the place for a quick stiffener." has got to be the winner! NIce one.

No matter how old and sensible I get (which is not very much at all it seems), these kind of things will never cease to raise a smile.

@tracyk - every playground should have virgin swing!

  13. When I was visiting a m8 in a small North Dakota town - and I mean small - he took me to the town's only bar: The Happy Beaver.

I thought they coulda done more with the entrance, but inside was nice and snug and cosy.

  17. I'm guessing there are rules about signage in Japan that this falls just short of breaking. People will push though. Give them an inch...
