Yeah, a matey hug from me too. If you remember, I made the same decision in the same circumstances with Buxton last summer. With Arthur having died two years prior to that, our house has now been a feline-free zone for over 9 months, and I don't like it, goddamnit!
Sorry to hear, eJay. There's always been cats at my family's place for as long as I can remember, so I've seen a lot of them go, but I never really got used to it. Lychee has had a long and happy life, I'm sure. (and steen is right, she's a beauty) One thing about cats is that, when many people are living in the same household, cats usually choose one of them to hang around / nap / sit on top of, etc. The one that chose me finally fell sick a few years ago, and the poor thing had an ugly death because of me: instead of putting an end to his long suffering I kept medicating him and giving him crap "healthy" food which he despised, for almost half a year. I regret that a lot.
My sympathies, ejay. It's almost a year since Min went the same way and I still sometimes find myself checking that there's food in her bowl before I go to bed. Lychee will stick around for some time to come, too, I'm sure.
Thanks everyone for the kind words. I thought I saw her last night. I managed the empty her food bowl, but didn't manage to get rid of the water bowl and litter, just like I managed to stay for the first shot, but didn't want to be there for the second one. It'll take some time before I quite realise she's not there anymore, "fortunately" for me, I hadn't lived with her for a long time now, so the feeling of loss will be less intense, but will probably drag out a bit longer. Still, she was probably my last cat for a while, at least until I manage to get over my cruel cat allergy.
And TIn, one of the bins has a yellow top... wait... *scratches head* I don't think I got it
Sorry to hear that Ejay. We had to make a similar decision not so long ago - not easy even when you know it's "for the best". We miss TJ terribly
ReplyDeleteAlways tough eJay. I went through it for the first time this winter so I can say hugssssssssssss to people in these situations and really mean it now.
ReplyDeleteOn a side note, how do you rate two green bins?

ReplyDeleteSo sorry Ejay. She's a beauty.

ReplyDeleteSympathies from me also. When my first cat died, about 20 years ago, for months and months afterwards I be convinced he'd just walked in the room.
ReplyDeleteFurther sympathy from obsessive cat lover. Twenty is pretty good going.
