Blimpy, have you heard about the new Shane Meadows film, being released this week: 'Le Donk & Scor-zay-zee'?
An improvised mock-rock-umentary made in 5 days set in deejayland, apparently, with Paddy Considine as Le Donk. Here's a trailer link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-hmSRgZHc8&feature=PlayList&p=E98CC30ECBA3DA9A&index=0&playnext=1
'course, if you can't hold the camera steady, or pay for more than one orange light-bulb, or stop the band from smoking on stage - or even get them to stay still for a second . . . you're bound to get results like this . . .
I have to say that apart from the inadvisable scatting at the 3min mark, I enjoyed that.
Visually a bit too shaky for me; I imagine it wouldn't take too many consecutive plays before I complained of headache/dizziness, but then I am getting old!! But I liked the fuzziness - like sepia-tinting for the digital age.
What's this, a post to show off your cool job? Closely followed by a post with a question to remind me how much my job sucks? It's this kind of passive/aggressive behaviour that gives the 'Spill a bad name. Well that & the playground beatings of course.
(JK, looking forward to a looksie, orchestral metal sounds like a winner & can't wait for the R&B epic).
While straining my utmost to be louche and careless - I completely forgot that what gets my goose-bumps shuffling is Electic Violins. In rock/pop ensembles.
This . . . 'thing' about EV's might have started with Jean-Luc Ponty. Can't remember the album or band. But John Handy's extraordinary group had Michael White on the Live at Monterey album - and for me that's when the music took wing.. I do like this jagged music, and I think your reduced blurry take was bang on for this crew.
Amazing stuff Blimpy, i'm always overawed by people who can create stuff
ReplyDelete...not too sure about the song though, Nu-Metal with violins!! But it kinda grew on me by the end..
