Howdy folkeroos
If I keep our dropbox under 2 gigs, you won't have overflow problems. So I'll delete stuff roughly on a last in first out basis.
Many of this week's nominated tunes are in a folder called ...adventures. I usually collect noms in a folder for listening and then put it on my ipod as a playlist, so easy enough to upload to dropbox too. Anything you want to add, feel free.
Anyone without dropbox access, give your email addy to me or one of the others and ye shall receive an invite.
NOTE: The RR dropbox syncs with a My Dropbox folder on your PC, so ONLY COPY songs into and out of the RR dropbox.
Any problems with dropbox, tough. Only kidding, feel free to ask. Also, sharing is intended for sampling only. Please support the bands you like.
Oh and btw, anything you put in the Public folder (copies, remember) of your own Dropbox can be shared with anyone. On the dropbox web interface, right click on any file in your Public folder and get a URL (similar to boxtsr) that you can copy and post on the Spill. At least that's the way it is supposed to work. *fingers crossed for an alternative to boxstr when its being patchy.
[Rob, you are welcome to this for research purposes]

Good God - all of those words are English but I don;t understand ANY of them!!!!
Am I being thick? I don't what this is about. It's probably one of those yoof culture things, isn't it? Boy, do I feel old and out of touch...
Please explain - it sounds very interesting but i haven't a clue what you are talking about!!!
So, we can hotlink to dropbox files?
Dropbox? Propose a rename: Tincan? Tinderbox?
gremlin, I need an email address to invite you
Blimpy
It says you can. I've just tried it on the mother ship for a song Shiv wanted.
You do realize I am learning this as we go along, I hope.
@ Toffee
Ah, I do not have an email address for you so you didn't get an invite. So you need to rectify that, either here or through Blimpy maybe.
i'll try the hotlinking. That's what was good about boxstr, it was pretty much the only free file hosting site that allowed hotlinking (which means you can embed the mp3s in teh spill)
Where are the linking codes?
It only works on files in your public folder. You right click and the URL you need to copy and paste pops up.
It will not work on files in the RRdropbox, only your own public folder.
Aah, hadn't seen this. I've commented on Shane's thread above - I'm not ignoring y'all, I can't make Dropbox work.
Has anybody found a reliable alternative to Boxstr yet? I so have a couple of tracks I want to post on my blog, to encourage my 3 regulars to go check....
