I'm away this weekend so if anyone wants to nominate any of these help yourselves.. managed not to post any that I used for celebrity.. I'll see what's left on Monday morning.
BUT Bran Van 'rock Star' is one of my favorite songs.. get it in there.
Bah, I'm guessing from your post title that Mogwai's "Jim Morrison" is long gone (still working blind on the shoephone, & can't see Mothership posts from here since the "upgrade"). The Jam's "To be someone" would be perfect, but as our new guru already picked "Malice" it's got no chance. Liking the new guy's themes but not his tune choices so much. Oh well.
I was going to nominate Benjamin Zephaniah's Superstar, but have a rule about not nominating songs I've received directly from another RRster. Get over there and nominate it, young shane!
SHoegazer if Mogwai's Jim morrison isn't gone I'll nom it in your name.
Can anyone tell me where RR is this week, here 'tis Friday and there's no sign of it either at the front page nor at Music, did I miss something? And what's the topic?
Here's the blog: http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/musicblog/2009/mar/26/readers-recommend-fame-songs?showallcomments=true&commentpage=6&commentposted=1 The topic is fame.
The column for social class is here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2009/mar/27/readers-recommend-social-class
There are some good points here but most it was a bit jejune for my liking. But I did agree with the bit where he said: 點點的金錢而選擇品質粗糙的廉價黑. Too bloody right ... who amongst us wouldn't do the same?

Thanks EJ, no idea why but nothing shows on either of my Macs.
Someone forgot to tell Anonymous about the 1/3 lyrics rule.
I think there's a typo in the 8th line, btw.
I thought Japanther may have gone native.

Finally had time to listen after the madness of the weekend. As ever, good list, good art. Especially liked Celbration and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Hope you had a good weekend.
