I'm a Pisces and I Like Long Walks On The Beach.

My favourite Japanese cartoon was Saint Seiya or Chevaliers du Zodiaque (Knights of The Zodiac) in French. It was brilliant. Basiclly you followed the adventures of Bronze Knights Seiya, Shiryu, Hyoga and Shun. They were each assigned a constellation, and had the corresponding armour. Later in the story, they face the "Gold Knights" which represent the 12 Zodiac signs (from which this clip is taken). I waited patiently for my sign (Pisces) to make its appearance, expecting a really cool villain in a battle to the death against Shiryu (seen here fighting Scorpio), only to find Knight of the House of Pisces being played by a rose-throwing Aphrodite, and was challenged by Shun, Knight of Andromeda, who was sexually ambiguous (everytime he cried, he would get a flashback of his older brother berating him for being so "childish" which was arguably code for his lack of "virility") and weak, and as children, my friends and I didn't really get all the subtleties of his character, he was the token character for girls to get into it as far as we were concerned.

Aquemini
Outkast combine their two signs like Voltron.

Two sceptical songs about this whole flapdoodle.

Nas' Virgo braggadocio; it doesn't hurt to have Doug E. Fresh beatboxing though.

Take your pick:

Common's Aquarius

To finish off, Miles Davis with Capricorn, while Wayne Shorter rewrites his own tune 36 years later in Capricorn II.

I really like the Wayne Shorter. Maybe it's because you said it's from many years later, but it sounds contemplative, melancholy, nostalgic, maybe. Hmmm. I like how at first it sounds more melodic, but you keep losing that and then coming back to it.

I've really enjoyed this ejd.. except for something that is bugging me..

It 'ain't your sign it's your mind' I listened to the start and can't get another tune out of my head - i thought it was someone sampling it (say 4 seconds in to 8 seconds) but what does it remind me of?

apart from that Doug e's beat boxing was a standout from an exemplary list.

Scratch that.. Aba cast finished on my iTunes and went into an old Blimp cast...

the 4 second song part reminds me of Eric Burdon and War 'Spill the Wine'

(I will sleep easier now)

Glad you liked it folks, I see what you mean about Roy Ayers and War Shane, I just checked it out and it's obvious.
