J'aurais pas cru!

I don't know about the rest of the world, but In France, there was something called the 80's

Ta Douleur
Some newer stuff now, well, new as in post-1979. M's more than adequate cover of Close To Me, General Elektriks is intrigued.
Guess which Manchester band Vox Dei listened to before playing Terroriste? Their contemporary Marie Möör is ready to die while M comes back, tired of these French youths and wants to visit Africa, where exactly he's not sure, but if I were him I'd avoid places like Somalia or Zaire. La Maison Tellier (no relation) feel an even bigger ennui than Dutronc's L'Idole and are looking for a "second breath", Camille gets her entry in early for the duck list.
Blackjoy ponder the enigmatic moustache or "stache", one of my favourite diminutives in French. Staying with the hair theme, M is a big macho man who'll take you in his Golf Gti (the video is worth checking out). Comix are adamant:"no means no!" Don't touch their wangers.
Soundforce are back with La Fin Du Monde, it's the end of the world but the everybody is partying so hard they don;'t care, the announcer has to give up an join in.

Mon Dieu, Vox Rei, c'est La Division de Joi! Or more precisely, New Order, had Ian Curtis come back to life a few years later and decided to sing in French.
Am rather taken by that Marie Moor tune. More than a nod to very early Depeche Mode there.
I've got a couple of remixes by Blackjoy (Holy Ghost's Hold On,on DFA from last year is a cracker), but hadn't heard that La Stache track. Just been checking out the ace Prins Thomas Diskomiks of it.

It's uncanny isn't it, or outrageous, depending on how you look at it.
For more of that dark electro synth kind of thing, you ight want to check out a compilation called BIPPP - French Synth Wave 1979-85.
Indochine is very Depeche Mode-y too, but that hair...
I'd quite like to hear those remixes BaBe.

I'll try and track them down as mp3s and dropbox them; I've only got them on vinyl and unable to record them to the computer at the mo. Forget what the other one is just now, but the Holy Ghost one's ace.

No (black)joy on that, I'm afraid, ejaydee. DFA don't muck about when it comes to folk posting their tunes up and it's been removed from every blog I could find it on. Did find a stream of it on here though, so you can listen at least:
