While you wait for RR, play with this.

That is a little too...much...fun. That could be dangerously addictive. It feels like you're actually creating something, though, however fleeting it maybe.

I believe I've created about 5 masterpieces. It''s fun to spell words too.

Heh heh, I tried writing my name.

I'm literally in love with a grid. Literally.

Cheers EJ.

Have you seen this, Steen. It's twee to the max, but I like it for now.

You've got a griddy kind of love Snad.

Oh, nooooo!

This is too much fun! I'm going to get hooked on this, though. I have this tune in my head I can't shake off now...

EJ, that is the most amazingly fun thing since the vibrator.
@steen - no, it doesn't have to be fleeting. Sign up with Hobnox and you can record and save your masterpieces, and play with the grid in a virtual studio where you overlay udder riddims from beatboxes. I think we should have a Tonematrix competition!

It works, and I'm impressed. Are you extremely quick fingered?

glasshalfempty said...

No, but I like to think I'm quite quick on the uptake with anything shiny shiny.

This is basically a Tenorian, isn't it - just £700 cheaper! (Eat your heart out Little Boots).

It seems like a 21st C version of a kazoo. That is, usable by people with no musical knowledge. And in my case, no musical talent! (On a scale of 1-100, my creative musical ability score is zero). Oh, and it sounds a lot nicer than a kazoo. Thanks for the link, EJ. It will amuse my tiny mind for ages. Well, til tomorrow anyway. Then I'll start playing with the box...

Sorry I never got back, Ejay. I like the kidnap kids a Lot. A bit like KImya Dawson in their simplicity, but goodness. They are sweet, and in the good sense of the word, not the overused sense.

You're very welcome GHE, I'm glad to help you "waste" your time in any way I can. Although you've made a proper use for it, so it's not quite wasting anymore.

No problemo Steen, the first thing I thought of was Kimya Dawson, and then the next thought after that was you.

steenbeck said...

Thanks, ejay. I'm actually feeling inspired by a lot of lo tech stuff I've heard lately to revisit....garage band. Be very afraid.

@EJD - "waste" - who said anything about waste? I CHOOSE how I spend my time, and my aim is either my or someone else's enjoyment. It's others who keep telling me I'm wastin' time ;-)

@Steen - If only you'd released your wonderful dream song on the 'Spillharmonic label, I could've nommed it for this week:

"Fall oh fall into my sleep. Sink oh sink into the deep."

But then again, I know it's not really about tiredness, so perhaps not..

But get a decent mike, and I'm all ears for your next garageband masterpiece.

Ack! You're not supposed to remember that!
