Whilst we're talking photos: I came across this recently, the groups name is 'No Doubt', I think it's the all time worst PR pic I've ever seen, nothing could tempt me to even listen to anything they do! Anybody heard of 'em?

Surely you heard their monster hit 'Dont think' on the old tranny? They were a ska band from LA who found themselves a Madge-a-like, and then got lucky. Pretty awful pic suits their pretty awful pop
My daughter loved them. They've since split and their singer is a solo act - Gwen Stefani
Hope this is not going to become a series: "Bands GF has never heard, but doesn't like the look of". C'mon, 'Spill better.
No it's not going to become a series but when I came across that picture I couldn't conceive what message they thought it transmitted, to the degree that I saved it on my desktop for no particular reason. I've done quite a few photo shoots with various groups and have several album covers so it's something I'm interested in, but there's been stylistic changes in the way groups choose to present themselves in the last decade or so that I can't relate to, this one's up there.
Another aspect that annoys me is that competent professional photographic standards have been discarded and images are deliberately presented that look as though they've been shot by incompetents with faulty gear, that's what's become acceptable. Nuff said, rant's over, I won't do it again.
I dunno GF, 4 comments (now 5) and no trees died in the process. Keep em coming.
the most disrubing thing about that photo is Gwen's luminous green bra...
....luminous green bra.....
...or are that the luminous green hands of that luminous guy standing behind Gwen?
It is gruesome. No Doubt were one of the first bands to do 80s retro. This picture shows they were bang on the money. Could very well have been taken for Smash Hits/ Flexipop in the early 80s.
Truly awful music IMHO.
Ah, they weren't all bad. Stefani's solo stuff is much better though.
I'm not sure it was eighties retro - they formed in 1986 and just stayed with the same horrible look for the next twenty years.
Thanks for clarifying GF, makes sense to me now. Don't think that Gwen's "limes" are in any immediate danger either.
I loved 'Don't think' but big up to eagle eye McFlah for noticing that underwear crime that is that bra. Eeeeew. Where was her stylist???
The song was actually called "Don't Speak", not "Don't Think"
God, 1986? I wasn't aware they existed until early 90s. Actually I suppose the two-tone revival made them very late seventies retro.
Sorry, don't like Stefani solo either.
