Maybe this one is a no-brainer, as "Saints" is one of the best songs ever recorded. But in terms of shredding, is it bizarre to think that Annie from Giant Drag shreds the hardest by not shredding at all? Think about it...if any dude recorded the same song it'd have solos all over it.
Who's the best, and who can beat them?

Wow! Tough call!
Can't really comment on the quality of the shredding (because I'm in fingerpickin' acoustic mode just now), but did you all know that Kelley Deal KNITS?! (OK, that might only be of interest to TY and me...)
I did! She runs knitting circles at festivals. I think it may have started as therapy in rehab but it's now almost as famous as Steve Albini's Poker games.
No contest.
It's The Breeders innit.
it's the real Deals for me....
Breeders win
(but I will have to catch up with some Giant Drag cos I don't really know her stuff)
ahh...I'm late to the CWS party, but for this round the Giant Drag tune has the edge for me. I've always liked the way she balances the sweet'n'innocent with the outrageously foul-mouthed.
As I may have intimated previously, I'm a sucker for all-girl garage rock/punk bands.....can we have the Riff Randells for starters??
You can get the Kelley Deal knitting book!!
It's called Bags That Rock: Knitting On The Road With Kelley Deal
