Saw them last night in my newly reconstituted iTunes (hard disk crashed over Christmas, fortunately had backed up a month earlier so haven't lost much) but thought I would leave them for you.
Mnemonic my itunes crashed when we moved house - finally got it back on new years eve a week later... everything is date added 31/12/09... I have definetly had a New Start.
(I see everyone failed to get in to RR last night then)
can't wait to listen shoey.. finish some work and will be right back.
Sorry to hijack your post Shoey, I can't seem to get on RR, I forgot my password. Could someone post Rio (with David Byrne) by Vinicius Cantuaria, Al Otro Lado del Rio by Jorge Drexler, The Water Is Wide by Fred Neil and The River by Ananda Shankar please. The justification is that they're all awesome.
that tune was what first got me into Liars....i saw an import copy of their first album in my fave record shop in Brighton, saw it was on Gern Blandsten Records (I think it eventually came out in the UK on Blast First), so listened to it in the shop and was hooked instantly and bought it on the spot! such a great tune and the first one I thought of when I saw the word "river" for RR!
I'm waiting for a topic where I can recommend "There's Always Room on the Broom". Incidentally, I have an authorised bootleg of a live Liars gig. mostly featuring Drum's Not Dead tracks. Think I may have found it on Archive.org. Anyone fancy a copy?
Have to admit to having been a little disappointed in the last album. Seemed a bit ordinary after what had gone before.
@Mnemonic - yes please! was that the CD/DVD that cane with a 7" a couple of years ago? it was out of my price range at the time.
I agree about the last album, definitely more traditional song structures, which is kinda true to form, 'cos they always do what you least expect and I didn't expect that!.....a "not bad" Liars album is still a darnsight better than most albums though!!

..... and yet again I can no longer get to RR.
must have been beaten to them, but any of Buck 65s Riverbed series pts 1-7 would nearly fill my list.
