No real reason to post this, except that I love it.
I really miss Jerry Garcia.
A sad and beautiful performance from just before he died.

This is toooo sad, Carole. Not looking good at all for a man of his age (51!) with his vibrato technique bordering on Parkinson's. He still had the melodic intuition in his playing and the emotion in his voice, but there are too many cracks for this to be enjoyable to me.
Carole: I don't know if you ever look at the Dead's site but they're releasing some GD stuff from 93 and JGB from 1978 (although the GD recordings are all still on the archive). You can listen to samples here: http://www.dead.net/listen-party-road-tripsv2n4-jerry-garcia-band
Chris/Carole: There's a piece in today's SF Chronicle re. a Garcia memorial celebration, it's at: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/08/03/BABK1932CV.DTL
