In The Land Of Grey And Pink

I might as well go the whole grey and pink hog and post the damn song here as well in case you've all missed my subtle propagandising elsewhere. No?

Ahh, Toffeeboy, you've touched on all my yesterdays - all it needs is Winter Wine and I will be adrift on a sea of nostalgia - superb.

Good luck with the campaign, TB. I'd recommend some words in your supporting posts that Rob can lift for his column. I'm sure that's why the GD song made it into last week's list: I mentioned Mussorgsky and eleven apostles and then Rob forms a great-sounding but incorrect sentence from it! Journalists, eh? Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em...

So, this must be the day that Everton slide into fifth, we hope.

Good luck to the blue half of Merseyside, gents.

That wasn't RobF's only error this week; anyone else cringe at his dismissal of Zep's Four Sticks as "not a song about numbers"?

@ Ali - check this out:

Winter WineRichard Sinclair is one of my all time musical heroes - Wilde Flowers, Caravan, Hatfied & The North and Camel, collaborations with Robert Wyatt and a voice to die for.
@ Chris - good call - 5th it is. And I'll see what I can do about putting together a decent Press Release...

@ DsD - thanks for the continuing support from across the park. 5th place would be nice but it's what happens in a fortnight's time that defines our whole season, and possibly even Moyes's career as Everton manager. I think we simply have to win the Cup this year or it could be the beginning of the end of the Moyes era.

I LOVE this song and I'm always deeply charmed by Caravn, despite their somewhat questionable album names.

@ bethnoir - when I was in the sixth form at secondary school, we had a music club on Friday lunchtimes and each member took turns to choose an album. A friend of mine chose Caravan's Cunning Stunts one week in the hope that the headmaster would get the title wrong when he announced it in assembly. No such luck, but it was worth a try ...

Toffeeboy - thanks for this. And I still remember all the words! Superb voice, great sentiment - seize the day, indeed.
