Take That? Take What? It's all rubbish, says gremlinfc...

My god I am so sick of technology - it takes me ages to crack summat and I feel like i've really achieved summat and then another exciting innovation comes along and it's back to the drawing board and feeling like an idiot again! Aaaaargh it's rubbish! Bloody smiley icons ? Rubbish!
Answerphones, they're rubbish...people who've got them don't know what side of the bed they're buttered on...Rubbish, absolute rubbish...Holidays they're rubbish, go on holiday abroad, it's rubbish, you stay here and have a holiday and that's rubbish.

That's funny, a couple of female friends were saying about John Thompson this week. I'd repeat it, but I don't think the 'Spill-fund could take the litigation.

It's all a big con to make you spend more money. We've been given Blackberries at work but all the interesting features have been disabled so we can only use them to check email when we're out of the office. But most of the attachments are too big to read on the BB so you have to wait till you get back into the office to read them. And then if you delete things on the works computer they don't delete from the BB so you have to do it all again on the BB. But if you delete something on the BB then it deletes it from the work computer even if you did it by mistake. And the keys are so small you get osteoporosis just trying to contort your wrists to use them. Rubbish, it is.

@balearicbeats - sounds like you were about to say something bad about the bloke: brings us to the following questions :
1. Should you judge someone on hearsay?
2. At what point do you cease to listen to their music / watch their films etc because they are @#*^#@$%*+ s ?
I have my own personal boycotts - the one that pissed me off the most was when I had to stop listening to "Noir desir" because that "#@8 of a singer murdered his lover. They did some great stuff too, but hey misogynistic murder is just what it says on the tin...

1.Point taken and I shouldn't have been so flippant. It was a couple-of-glasses-of-red knee-jerk reaction to the coincidence of the thread and the conversation I'd had a day or two before. I've met JT before and he's a top bloke and I wasn't trying to say otherwise. I'm forgetting the difference between posting on here and making jokey comments with people I know on other forums, so I'm sorry.

2. Interesting one. At what point do you? Morrissey making offensive comments about immigrants or Phil Spector being a potential murderer? Does it negate their work before? I really don't know. Normally you distance yourself from artists whose views or actions you don't agree with as a matter of principle, but when that changes and you find yourself
confronted with their actions or opinions after loving their work, I don't know.

What you don't do is make daft dumb-ass comments without thinking about it.

@balearicbeats - that's a great post - agree totally so onto the next topic...

I can still carry on liking Phil Spector's music, I think because it has nothing to do with the murder; but I can't keep on liking William Mayne, who used to be one of my favourite children's authors, since I found out he's a paedophile and used his status to lure kids to his house so that he could abuse them.

I'm just a humble jewelry designer from NY who is trying to get used to all this stuff!
