Some of you may know that it's been a bit wet in Yorkshire this last week. I assume that's how I got a new four foot deep pool in my cellar (I resisted the urge to dive straight in - must have been the floating bottles and bins). It's not as if we live next to a river that burst it's banks, this all came up through the gaps between the stone flags on the floor. And then, within 12 hours it had all mysteriously drained away to whence it mysteriously came.........spooky!

gordonimmel: that's what you get for living BELOW a thousand feet above sea level.
I did try to persuade you to come and live up here closer to the gods!

That reminds me of where we sat all night long in the blitz in WW2.
Actually I read that story in your blog about growing up during WW2, more great memories!
