Holy f!ck - one of my favourite ever songs has been improved by one of my favourite ever bands - just wait til it kicks in at the 3 minute mark. Bloody hell, it's amazing!
Now I was and am a fan of the original, and have never really got into The Flaming Lips, but concensus nonetheless ... marvellous.
Blimpy, I want the mp3 of this available for my Walkman TODAY.
[Threadjack time as explanation]: Darcey is in her first major show on Saturday - Victoria Theatre, Halifax - and I'm running Stage Door and security for a hundred and sixty child performers, whilst fighting off either a v.heavy cold or a small flu.
Technical rehearsal today, dress rehearsal tomorrow, two shows on Saturday, L-A-R-G-E tumbler of Southern Comfort at around 1am on Saturday night when I get in, sleep all day Sunday. Don't expect much from me on RR this weekend!
Not bad - but I actually preferred the quiet bit before the wig-out at three minutes, as for me it was much more interesting and seductive and less repetitive (slightly nasal riff started to get on my nerves a bit in the second half. Sorry.
By the way, Abahachi has nailed one of the reasons why I've never had much patience with tFL. This, though, I love both parts, and will be a track of choice during the bouts of tedium waiting for the next burst of frenzied activity with hyper kids and frazzled parents!
I'll admit it was slightly mean spirited of me to have posted it.. still, I couldn't help thinking about it, the Flaming Lips crew just look so seriously into what they're doing...
I bloomin' well am, Tracy. That first album is a belter. Unfortunately my ex got the original vinyl (proper sleeve an'all), and I've never replaced the home tape of it I made for our car. [I'm sure a psychologist would make something of that!]

Shoephone is only showing a pic. of a piece of Lego - so no idea yet what El Blimpo is raving about?
Wow! Never been a huge fan of the original, but that's simply marvellous!

I don't know the original but that's gorgeous.

You'd be serious if you had a gong like that, it's quite a responsibility y'know. Thanks for that link - awesome stuff!
That was great! Can't believe so many of you are unaware of early (good) Madonna!
