Hey, you found my prom picture!! That's me on the right. I think. And our reunion picture too. Wow, memories...
For me Readers Recommend goes up at 7 o'clock, so I'm usually either getting the boys in and out of the bath, or sharing half the computer screen with them so they can watch a cartoon and I can RR in peace. Yes, I'm that kind of mom. But I was thinking that some moms of my acquaintance go out drinking with their friends every week, and I don't do that. I stay home drinking with my friends and talking about music, my friends just happen to be all over the world. And I can still help putting the kids to bed!
Someone I once knew won a spin painting in a The Idler competition a few years back. It wasn't very nice to be truthful, we didn't bother putting it up for aaaaaaaaages.
This week I have mostly been listening to the new Bat for Lashes album (should have suggested 'Daniel' for last week's theme, did anyone else?), post punk band And Also the Trees and Devendra Banhart.
Not sure if it gets me in the right frame of mind for RR, but it gets in a good state of mind. I wouldn't want a painting by him, so no, not in the competition.
Well tonight the plan was to listen to Abahachi's Jazz thread, but my computer appears to have been hijacked by The Leisure Society.
And actually, after a crap day today, ...Melting Snow just satisfies my musical need.
More generally, I'm intrigued by last.fm's scrobbler spy. In spite of my penchant for rock guitar, my listening history on last.fm is predominantly laid-back stuff - a function, I suppose, of the fact that I listen to a lot of stuff after the girls have gone to bed.
When I first signed up for last.fm I was playing whole days of the kids' faves for them without noticing scrobbling was on, so it would take about 6 months of usual listening for my favorites to truly reflect what I listen to.
Hey chaps, hope everyone is happy and well... New RR isn't there yet, is it? And I missed the first love topic cos essay deadlines took over my whole life, shame... Only song coming to mind was off topic anyway - and not quite nice these days...I Didn't Know I Loved You ('Til I Saw You Rock N Roll). Hm. It's very strange to be out of the loop... hope I get back in this week, or may drop off the face of RR altogether!
I'm in bed by the time the blog comes up 'cos I have to get up early - best I can do is sneak on early Friday morning and so I can't listen to anything much as it would wake people up ...
Perhaps what we should do is if you can't get on, start a new spill post and if anyone gets on and notices s/he is mostly alone, go to the spill and put the link in comments.

I should enter that competition, it's worth about £150000!
I'm usually watching TV before the theme comes up, in the cases where I am listening to music, it'll be some favourites, in case I can recommend them.
Yes, I'm in the competition - though I don't know where I'll put it when I win.
I know where I'm gonna put it - on ebay - as much as I like Hirst's spin paintings, I don't think I could afford the insurance....
@ blimpy
(ps has anyone else entered the 'win a damien hirst' competition?)Nah, I already got one

Anyway, I'm supposed to be working.

Blimpcast 5 is 52% uploaded to dropbox, hold tight 'Spillers!!!
How do you know which ones are tight?
Extra typos?
BC5 is not too bad - it gets better when The Filter joins in about 50 minutes in though,

Oh no! RR is live too! Bugger!
cheers May1366. I went for it tonight - absence makes the mind work faster.
Stick with us, cauliflower.
Morning all, has RR been cancelled? Any pre-noms?
Ed, it IS there. Go via the Readers Recommend link on the right hand side of the Blog front page: Songs About Insects.
I think we've now suffered the problem goneforeign's been having.
Bastards! Thanks Rich.
Different problem. It is on the blog but showing up as being loaded quite early in the evening. Bastards!
I found it through the long route of going to RR on the main page and clicking on Rob's name to get the full list.
I had 2 weeks where it didn't shpw 'til Fri my time, I knew it was up 'cos you lot were talking about it. It cleared up last week and this.
