You really ought to listen to these.......

Two recent albums that people may have missed.

Bendora Arboretum - ambient industrial post rock. No strangers to controversy, Bendora Arboretum have followed in Lou Reed's footsteps and produced some of the most spine tingling and uplifting sound collages since the seminal Metal Macine Music

Dave Crawford and Lee Goldsby are talented multi instrumentalists, operating in that space between folk, free jazz and electroclash where few are equipped to go.

When you win, say nothing. When you lose, say less is an adventurous two part suite that combines pastoral lyricism with instrumental virtuosity and a toe tapping pop aesthetic that will have you dancing as you weep. The first part, When you win evokes the spirit of Duke Ellington through the musical palette of Tim Buckley and Royksopp. The less accessible, but equally rewarding When You Lose, channels Ornette Coleman and the Spontaneous Music Ensemble through the crystal clear pop sensibility of Girls Aloud and the instrospection of Nico's Marble Index.

Crikey, I have an album by the somewhat controversially named Revolt of Islam with the very same cover as the Bendora Arboretum. Sadly, they are Barry Manilow covers band and not ambient industrial post rock which I would much prefer. Better Graphics work on the Arboretums album as well.
I shall look it up in my local record emporium next weekend!
