FP's ALL NU revolution playlist

Morning my friends. And Happy May Day. I have a little more time than usual to trawl the web and have made a big discovery which has just knocked me sideways. It's Brooklyn Funk Essentials : The Revolution was Postponed because of the Rain. It recounts what would would really happen if anyone seriously tried to stage a revolution nowadays - all the obstacles you'd encounter along the way. It's wry, sardonic, irrisistably funky with a bass line that gets right under your skin and a Miles disciple on trumpet. Blown my sox off, it has. All of these songs are songs I discovered this morning and simply wanted to share with you. See what you think....

A topical theme, this one. We are in a period of social discontent because of the credit crunch (which the French call 'pouvoir d'achat' - it means purchasing power) and the alarming number of factory closures and unemployment figures. The new protest method in France actually takes the form of locking the bosses physically in their office until negociations turn out as the workers hope. All this has prompted former Prime Minister, Dominique de Villepin to comment "il y a un risque révolutionnaire en France".

What do you reckon? Will the barracades soon be up? According to Brooklyn Funk Essentials, whoever is in charge should think about planning permission first...

fp?

I can't get at the Brooklyn Funk Essentials song anywhichway. The playlist always starts with Esthero, won't click backwards past that, and if I try to go round forwards gets to the end and goes back to Esthero.

Yikes! Deezer gremlins didn't take a day off, Darce. Thanks for telling me. Well I put that Brooklyns in Robs Spotify list. BTW Does anyone need a spotify invite? I have ten to give away apparently. If you do, mail me at frogprincess66 at gmail dot com

Princess: Couldn't help but think of you today, I was listening to an interview on radio with an entomologist. He spoke of cockroaches, several interesting details.
He stated that every household in the US is infested with 'em whether you know it or not.
They shed their limbs, shells and skin as they mature
The warehouses where coffee beans are stored prior to grinding and processing are very favorite haunts, there's millions of 'em there, all the body parts etc get ground up into coffee. His advice, buy only beans and grind your own.
You can't be as selective with chocolate, they also love coco bean warehouses.
Both come from tropical environments.
Thought you'd like to add this to your cockroach file....T.
