Well speaking of 'the means of tin opening', we were adopted by a Siamese street cat in 1988, he looked just like Basil. We were leaving for a monthlong visit to Zambia soon after so we had a friend come in daily to feed Biko and empty his tray. We left her a 40lb bag of catfood in the cupboard under the sink. When we returned the first thing I saw was Biko lying on his back reaching up and opening the cupboard door, then he dived in and was straight into the bag, he was literally twice the size he was when we left, he'd said 'to hell with waiting for the catfood lady. We never got him down to his previous size. Is Bailey a whippet of a greyhound?
This is pretty well the only picture we have of all four cats together; relatively easy to get 2-3 in their basket (when not occupied by dog), but interpersonal relations are such that one is usually off on his/her own or doing his/her own thing. As for the collars, we tend to get through a fair few each year, mostly because of Jasper, who's the main hunter (rabbits and squirrels).
Bailey is mostly greyhound, probably with a bit of lurcher, and staggeringly neurotic. He's a rescue dog (cue stepdaughter's ex-boyfriend's artless query: "What does he rescue?"), and heaven knows what happened to him before he came to us because he's terrified of fireworks, motorbikes, thunder and pots and pans, and has serious separation anxiety. His main trick, especially when I'm trying to work, is to wander off into another room where he starts whining that he's been left all alone and nobody loves him - but if I shut him in with me, the cats get annoyed that there's a room they can't get into... I don't get a lot of work done at home...
BEautiful pets. And oddly, my sons have friends (brothers) named Jasper and Milo.
My dog's very anxious, too. Doesn't like thunder, fireworks, any kind of pop gun, the car driving through a puddle, the street sweeper. Doesn't like it one bit.
What beautiful animals. My friend used to have a Siamese - it used to lurk on the stairs and as you walked down the hall it would shoot a clawed foot out through the banisters and catch you on the ear. How we laughed.
I sympathis with Goneforeign - our cat has been on a diet for 6 months now and has lost about 0.2 kg - someone must be feeding him, but we can't work out who!

Great picture, made me smile, lovely cats.
Amazing picture! How did you get them all to play ball?
Also, how do you get them to keep their collars on? Mewsli loses his within minutes.

LOVE these pics: the slightly sheepish averted gaze of Bailey, as if to say "Make them leave me alone!" just cracks me up.
4 Siamese? It's a walkover. (Two's Terror, and I'm now a worker-slave). Not a chance in hell for the counter-revolution.
