Welcome to the thrill of:

There it is..
It was rather an unusual record label because it didn't do anything.
You see, everything on that label was a thing that somebody had once lost..
... we had found and brought home to Blimpy.
Our cat Blimpy.
The most Important,
The most Beautiful,
The most Magical,
Saggy old cloth cat in the whole wide world.

Well now, one day we all found a thing,
And brought it back,
And put it down in front of Blimpy,
Who was at the label fast asleep as usual.
But then we all said some magic words,
Blimpy, dear Blimpy
Old fat furry cat-puss
Wake up and look at this thing that we bring
Wake up, be bright
Be golden and light
Blimpy, Oh hear what I sing.

Blimpy was wide awake,
And when Blimpy wakes up all his friends wake up too..
The tincanmice on the mouse-organ woke up and stretched,
SteenB, the rag doll...
DsD, the toad...
And last of all, Professor Aba, who was a very distinguished old woodpecker
He climbed down off his bookend and went to see what it was that we all had brought……….
“Yaka Yaka aYak”
“A record.. a record.. it’s been a long while since anybody has needed one of those”

Blimpy gave a big yawn, and settled down to sleep,
of course when Blimpy goes to sleep, all his friends go to sleep too...
The tincanmice were ornaments on the mouse-organ,
DsD and SteenB were just dolls,
And Professor Aba was a carved wooden bookend in the shape of a woodpecker.
Even Blimpy himself... once he was asleep was just an old, saggy cloth cat
Baggy, and a bit loose at the seams...
But we all loved him.

Put a poll up, "who's higher, Shane or Blimpbagpuss?"

Don't feel so bad about stealing a RTW now you've beaten me to a Press again, Shane. Haven't posted on the good ship RR yet, so go ahead & take it as you introduced me to them.

Probably won't get much tune time til Sunday, but look forward to listening as usual.

I'm told my natural idiocy is not conducive to mind altering substances.. so that's why I gave up 20 years ago.. or it caused it 20 years ago.
Me and my friend inside this head, can't quite work out the answer to that,
Was there a question?
or a poll?
We vote maybe.

can't get on the RR either so the real tuesdays will have to wait again. the Wolfgang P was already in for # last week.. but as I ws busy.. didn't get time to put up my playlist for that.

Hi Shane, you asked the other week where I was in my project, we'll we're pretty much exactly at the same point as 'Spill Records (working title).

oh EjD,
you see I would have thought this would be easier... most labels have a very definite individual stamp to them, as you say we.. has there been clashes or just the real world getting in the way?
Even with just 4 of us, we couldn't agree to the direction very well (language barriers between two of us didn't help) but you seem to have your mind as well as an open mind (reading between the lines of your comments and posts) so get on with it fella!!

there's the stray word, pesky little thing.

Hang on, this implies I can play a banjo and hold a tune ... I THINK NOT, MY FRIEND!

saneshane said...

and you'd have to rock out on that banjo DsD... but I just couldn't bring myself to put TFD or FP.. I don't know the frog/toad etiquette enough!
(steenB, I hope you can make yourself into the funkiest rag doll so I don't offend you either)

Blimpy.. um.. I just hope your head didn't implode!

There's two of us Shane, so it's manageable (although he's a bit more strict in terms of music, he's a musician you see), and we're still using the temporary IchiSkrotumm, because the name we van figure out later. We're just a bit stalled, we have a potential act, but we haven't made the step of actually putting the money together. I think the hard part mostly, is finding the act, and then earning that act's trust. And that's valid for both of these nascent ventures. Oh and I realised, we need a wheeler & dealer. Webcore would be good for that wouldn't he?

saneshane said...

well it is all about juggling those... itchi...

There seems to be a few people on here that I'd guess had the gift of 'sorting stuff'
I think the act/ band/singer is the hardest to find and also, if you are in a joint venture, agreeing on.

Just had a listen through Shane - the usual high standard. Loved the Dave Clarke tune (but I like most things Chicks On Speed put their name to), donds for Regular Fries (in the same bracket as Campag Velocet, hence the debut split 7") and the FGTH mix was great too, but it's a great track to start with, so, can't really go wrong!

Is that Roisin Murphy on the second Wonderland song?
