boxstr found the rest of your tracks finally!

good stuff.. so far enjoying:
Les Visiteurs Du Soir, Mr. Hayes, Kool Keith, k-os and the cocorosie is one of my favorite tracks by them - less affected than some. very enjoyable listen. Think I need to find some more k-os.. loving that.

Cruising down the river, on a Sunday afternoon??

Actually I didn't see them on Eurovision, so you may be right.

Thanks Shane, I have three songs by K-os, that one, The Rain, and Superstarr (Pt. Zero), and I like them all. Actually this is the perfect opportunity to check out his Atlantis album.

Z. Island is probably the Portico Quartet track which most effectively uses the Hang, very nice sound, reminds me of a Hang playing busker we saw in Berlin last year, it's a great instrument for drawing a crowd and sounds really good in a big square filled with people.

That's the first song of theirs I heard. Your busker should have bought a harmonica, those hangs are really expensive.

You can fit a lot more Euros in a hang case than you can in a harmonica case, though.. and this guy was really good, he was raking it in.. Mara danced around in front of him for half an hour, must have attracted at least 50 punters.. I actually even have a vid of him she took on her camcorder, I'll have to see if I can post it, issues of copyright pending..

Ejd - I just found k-os 'Joyful Rebellion' album in my collection from 2004
(it should be Dropboxed in about 10 minutes if you- and probably steen- want to have a listen. After nilpferds album of the week obviously)

Very very excited about the k-os, which is downloading now to be listened to after N's AOTW.

one boxstr'd berliner busker.. it's really very soothing, especially the parts where Mara hums along..

Loving it Nilpo. He plays it very well too. Mara hums well too.

Did she guess the second tune, or did she know it already?

ejaydee said...

Yep. loved it. Where in berlin was this?

It was near the Hackescher Markt, in front of the S-Bahn viaduct at the Hackescher Markt station. In fact, here, among the trees middle front. She didn't know the piece, but she picks up on musical things quickly, I think doing ballet has really sharpened her perception of rhythm and harmony. Plus of course, ahem, our funky hippo genes..

..despite the tottenham trousers..

Is it a video? It won't open--it says your dropbox is too full!! Well, no wonder, with AOTW & Grant McClennan.

I boxstr'd it actually, but my bandwidth is full.. should be reset in -um- 7 hours from now.. I might try making it smaller, not quite the expert on movie formats yet..
