Testing Testing

After only 2 days and 104 hours, I've finally cracked the code and got this together. As it is actually raining here the temperatures have plummeted to a nippy 18 degrees centigrade, I'm not doing my normal Friday thang in the desert as depicted.

This is my backyard. The redness of the sand is caused by high levels of iron, appparently. This may seem remote, but its only 20 minutes away from downtown Al Ain and we are always well stocked with beer and water in mini-coolers when we head out on an expedition. The local camel racetrack is only 5 minutes away.

Come nightfall, a stack of wood purloined from local building sites, some sounds on the boombox and a couple of disposable barbeques do us nicely. This may seem unecological, but we leave no traces (other than footprints) and we don't do dune-bashing. The drive out is along unmetalled roads.
