"The Howling" - The Phantom Band

The Phantom Band - The Howling on MUZU.

The Phantom Band have made a video for one of the tracks off their excellent debut LP (on Chemikal Underground Records). It's catchy and has a hint of the old Morricone mixed in with the slight sinisterness. I caught them at Homegame, and they were damn intense. Amazingly no two Phantom Band songs sound the same! They're playing the Outsider Festival in June, with King Creosote, Malcolm Middleton, James Yorkston, Teenage Fanclub, Attic Lights, Sharleen Spiteri, Roddy Woomble, and more in the beautiful Highlands. See you by the waterfall!

That was ace Blimpy - the whole album is great and that Outsider Festival sounds amazing.

I've been hunting in vain (at my Mum's house) for my CD of Idlewild's "Captain" mini-album.....think I must have lent it someone who never gave it back.....can't find "The Holy Bible" either.........it must be somewhere.....I HAVE already imported all my old Arab Strap and B&S albums and singles into iTunes though.

Like the album, but can't decide if not settling on a sound, at least for a whole album, is annoying or interesting? Seeing them live would probably help.

But I DID find 2 Macrocosmica CD's, loads of Dawn Of The Replicants and an A C Acoustics album...which have all been successfully transferred to the ol' iTunes library

...Holy Bible Part 2 - well, in theory, it sounds amazing, but I suspect it won't live up to expectations.....
