REFLECTIONS ON MYSELF

Since I was always the one with the camera I rarely got into any pictures so I started documenting myself whenever I saw a large mirror, later on it started so become quite surreal and abstract. These two were taken on a trip to Paris in the 80's. As you can see focus isn't all it should be when shooting into a mirror, the second one is inside the Pompidou center.

Makes sense GF.

Whenever I see folk - usually tourists - taking a picture of their mates/family, I always offer to do one of ALL of them. Invariably the offer is gratefully accepted, in whatever language can be mustered. And I don't run off with the camera (as some might fear, but never dare say!)

These days I use the self timer a lot more - partly because I don't really like the current fad for pictures where you hold the camera at the end of your arm, and everyone clusters close.

Personally, I love taking pictures of reflections - they are often wonderfully enigmatic mash-ups of reality as we know it. But I go to great lengths to keep me OUT of those shots...
