The Insurance Company, by Isaac Hayes

Love the way it starts, with that distorded piano, then the beat comes in, then the horns, and then the wah-wah saxophone that first comes in little spurts and then a solo.

Podbean is too slow, so I'm back on the old yt.

Dondalicious. Who's on sax, is that Hayes himself? Great tone and pacing to the track.

Don't have the CD with me unfortunately, so don't know who's on sax, but there's a good chance it is him if I remember correctly. Sadly the sound didn't come through as well as I would've liked, by that I mean it sounds even better than this.

Ejay: I was over at my blog this week and I noticed you'd left a comment on my WW2 story, thank you. Ack Ack is anti-aircraft artillery, in the war there were dozens/hundreds of ack ack guns all over the city, every bomb site or open ground had one, they were large 4" guns that fired exploding shells, they didn't have to specifically hit an enemy aircraft, when the shell exploded at a pre-determined altitude it scattered shrapnel over a large area, that was what did the damage. They were used in conjunction with barrage balloons, huge balloons tethered to the ground with wire cables that prevented the enemy aircraft from flying low. The other component was the searchlight, we had total blackout so jerry could see nothing below him, we located his planes with radar and searchlights for the gunners to establish their altitude settings. There's a fairly realistic film about that period, it's Hope and Glory by John Boorman, google it, there's some info there re. what it was like .

Steenbeck, Blimpy, GF, and any other Mac users, is anybody having uissues with Podbean? I'm using it on Safari, and it always takes ages to upload a song, sometimes it just doesn't. Any suggestions?

I assumed that was normal, I've been having serious problems with Safari recently, specifically here, it keeps crashing and I don't know what to do about it except switch to Foxfire which I've done. I haven't uploaded anything to Podbean on it so I can't comment on it's speed, I'll let you know when I do.
