This one fits under my ongoing heading "JUST A THOUGHT"
What with this book business and all would it be a good idea to have an open post here where random thoughts and ideas might be collected. A couple occur to me, This party/event definitely needs to be documented, both photos and video, huge potential for after the fact creative editing etc.
I've always HATED nametags at social functions, we always started off by exchanging them with the most unlikely person present, but here, given the nom de plume business, I think a case could be made. We'd all like to see what lurks behind those shields and we are family after all.

It would be nice to document the event, if it does happen, and if I can't make it. However you'd have to respect the fact that maybe some people prefer to hide behind the username and stay anonymous. If the other socials are anything to go by, there'll be no more than 20 people maybe, and given that some of us have already met, it shouldn't be a problem remembering names.
I like the anonymity, and I like not knowing what people look like too.
Well we know what you and Mrs. Blimp look like, there's a picture right there!
But hold on Blimpy, you showed us your face to a sweet background of Africa by Toto if I remember correctly.
I can't remember anyone even waving a camera in Manchester, and there were certainly no pics ever emerged from the first social.
Now that a guaranteed half of the social attendees will be repeat offenders from the first two, and that we're such a friendly bunch, I don't think the nametags thing is even an issue. Just look for the table with a great big pile of CDs - and books this time, I guess - and there we are. I'll have a bottle of NewcyBroon if you're going to the bar...
The fact that we were all pie-eyed after G's whiskey might have been the reason none of us could even focus a camera?
