Now it's driving me crazy, Ejaydee. It's so familiar. Maybe it's just one of those things that pops up everywhere. According to google it was in Mo Money and 1969, but I don't remember seeing those, so that can't be it for me. If you think of it, let us know.
I have a terrible, terrible confession to make. After some intense brain-racking, I finally had this image in my head of a family around the table or doing some kind of house chore. I am ashamed to say, that as IMDB confirmed, the place that I am most likely to have heard this infectious snippet, was in Cheaper by The Dozen... http://imdb.com/SearchSongs?reach%20out%20of%20the%20darkness
And the other question is - can I be bothered to dig out the St ettiene greatest hits on what's less than a hunch!?
Yes, it seems we have a terrible case of logo -rot ; and it won;t be long afore our beloved blog consists of nothing more than awful graphics and complete drivel!
The song that sampled it was Len's People Come Together. I think Len had a hit song in the late 90's, no?
I didn't really enjoy the movie, no. But it's extremely hard to to start watching a film and then not see how it ends. I started watching because I was curious as to where all those kids came from.
Looking at the video now. Wikipedia seems to agree with you: "Len is a Canadian pop music group from Toronto, Ontario, known internationally as a one-hit wonder for its song Steal My Sunshine in 1999."
People Get Together, is not on their myspace page, youtube, deezer or songerize. I'm on my way home now but I think we'll have to resort to 30-second samples.
I found a clip on iTunes, it's hard to tell with just 30 seconds, but it's nothing to write home about. I could early hear the bassline from Reach Out.., didn't catch the ATCQ sample.

Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E. sampled it on their song "Psyko Funk" (...have it on 7" vinyl, gotta dig it out of my vaults....)
True. I was thinking about the voice though. I thought it would've been some 90's British EMF style tune. Or maybe I heard it in a film.

Um, was it St Etienne?
Would you have a clip?
And Blimpy, you need to do something about that logo-rot before it spreads to the rest of the blog.

According to some internet genius the song also samples ATCQ, so if you find a clip, please post it.
