soundtrax

Just playing with some French film soundtracks for old super-8 footage that I shot. An experiment that proves how much music can add to a jumble of images. The first is Duo from Delicatessen, the second is Brouillard from Jules et Jim

*UPDATE* I just tried saving the first film as CD-Rom quality (15 fps instead of 12) And it didn't take much longer, but I think it looks much much better. So I've replaced it, and here's the new version...

Love those clips, are you filming, something that was shot on super 8 with another camera, or did you shoot what was playing on the wall (which looks like SUper 8) with a Super8?

Thanks, Ejaydee. I shot them on super-8, then projected them on a wall and shot it with a video camera. (You can see Malcolm from about 3 years ago watching them in parts). But when I was saving them in iMovie I used the Save as>web streaming option, and see how blocky and digital they look? I'm going to play with it today, maybe I'll try "Full Quality" and see if it takes forever to upload or open. Responding to your statement over on the mothership as well, the little camera in the computer is perfect for catching kids who would other wise be self-conscious. And they do love to look at themselves. I've used it to persuade Malcolm to let me give him a haircut--he was fascinated by watching himself as it happened. And your nephew and nieces' fartish fog story would be a big hit with any 5-yr-old boy that I know. Took a look at the archives and the songs written for movies discussion. I'm sorry I missed it, looked like a good one, and after this week I have so many...

I liked that haircut idea, 5-year old Cassiel is always reluctant to get his hair cut.
When you choose how to share an imovie project, there's a bit of information about the size of the file and other technical details that I don't understand. Full Quality would definitely take a while I'm sure.

Well, I think I replaced it, but it's not up in my youTube channel, yet, so who knows? I'm done thinking about videos for the rest of the day.
