2. some Frois Gras
3. A card of multiple signage

From the Scottish climate:
1. A big load of rain

Folks who share my birthday:

1. Little Grey Rabbit
2. Jeff Beck
3. Mick Fleetwood

Bon anniversaire, Blimpmeister. Do the 4 candles mean you've crossed the big 4 - 0 threshhold? If so - welcome to the wrong side of the tracks. Life really does begin...!!!!

And here's my favourite birthday track for you (Stevie - free zone)
Happy Birthday Blimpy!

No Noooooo! Try this one
I meant this one!

Happy Birthday McFlah! I really need to know whether your gift of half a bicycle brings the total up to 1 or 0.5.

@fp - thanks for the trax, the 4 candles meant that the other 27 couldn't fit on the cake!

@tfb - it's 0.5ish, I have to provide the other half!

i should also add that I bought myself the new Glasvegas 7" "Geraldine", and damn fine it is too.

Maybe I should add it to the post.

Happy birthday Blimpy!

Thanks Carole!

I've added Glasvegas to the post, despite it being about a social worker rather than birthdays.

Pizza and beer? Damn right Mini McFlah. That diet has seen me through the whole of Euro 2008. Happy Birthday Blimpy.

Enjoying the Glasvegas, having not been previously set on fire by them. But I've never quite understood foie gras. Won't a nice Brussells Pate do?

Feliz aniversario Blimpy!

Happy Birthday, Blimpmeister! Enjoy that fois gras (goes very nicely with pink champagne) and no, Snadfrod, Brussells Pate, good though it is, just isn't in the same league.

Blimpy - loving that Glaswegas song. I've always been fond of bands that sing in their own accents rather than the generic mid-atlantic drawl. The Proclaimers and Shack are two that spring immediately to mind.

Now there's another thought for an RR theme - or even a 'Spill thread...

Own accents? King Creosote, Half Cousin and The Twilight Sad are all good Scotsmen vocally.

Happy birthday Blimpy, get that bike sorted before the fine wine, pate, beer, cake and pizza combo can bring on the gout!

Happy Birthday el Blimpo. Sorry for the late congratulations, but by some bizarre coincidence I have been out on the balcony all evening at the barbecue, celebrating MY birthday! And the barbecue - a very fine Weber one - was my birthday prezzie from a variety of friends and family. I can't really offer a birthday song, as they are all execrable IMHO, even Lennon (and especially Cliff); and anyway I'm too pissed on cheap bubbly to even think striahgt...Hope you had a good one. Now for the RR whip round to buy the bicycle clips!

Well happy birthday to you too GHE!

Blimpy said...

woo hoo, we're all a bit pissed and loving it!

many prescient poitns thatg i shud feply to, espo foie grasand scots accents in singing, but i'm going to retire to beds and watch "the offce; an american workplace", 22 eps of whic i just downloaded.

many thanks all for all nice wishes, and congrats to all celebrating birthdays and whatever elks - you guys rule.

cheers!! here's to gout and bicycle clips!! (the title of the new single by arctic monkeys, i believe)

Happy Birthday, Glasshalfempty!
Cant think of any birthday songs other than Called to wish you an unhappy birthday and we don't want that. And Cracker happy birthday to me off of my amazing birthday mix. (thanks, saneshane)
But I wanted to say thanks for the 'Spill, Blimpy, I think it's a beautiful mess, and I think you were the perfect person to crystalize the glorious insanity of RR.

Happy (probably belated) birthday Blimpy!

As a keen biker, and proud owner of about 7 of those things, I was just wondering how that half new bike looked....

Happy Hangover GlassCompletelyEmpty sounded like you had a good one...
could I suggest
Kirsty MacColl 'Soho Square' as a birthday song (having trouble tracking it done tho so will get back to that one) hopefully not too execrable!

and Blimpy
cLOUDDED 'physics of a unicycle'
sorts your half a bike out.

Elks. Heheheh! That's made my day!

Hangover cures regularly get mentioned in Spill postings, for reasons that I can't imagine (too much listening to red wine glugging on blimpcasts I'll wager). As I'm in need of one, I'll have to resort to the search function! Cheers. Hic.

Blimpy said...

tee hee, the wine bit is one of my favourite parts of doing a blimpcast. . .

now, when are you other Spillers gonna do a podcast then?!!

snadfrod said...

I'm certainly planning it, Blimpo, but might need a technical pointer or two...

For example, can you use garageband on a PC? And, if not, what else would be good? I've only really got a crappy mic and my itunes so I just need it to be basic. I'm assuming its just a case of talking and pressing play on the tracks you want and then technology does the rest? Thanking you in advance and returning to the jumpers-for-goalposts that the Turks and Fritz are up to...

Blimpy said...

Hi Snad - other Spillers will be able to give you some pointers on easy PC recording, as I'm 100% Macish and garageband is mac only.

the good thing about g/band is that you can drag and drop songs straight from itunes. i only had 2 tracks going on garageband; one for my voice, and the other for the music, and it's just a case of dragging the music to the right place and blethering away.

snadfrod said...

Ah, shucks. I am firmly and resolutely a PC boy, so that is a shame. I need something user friendly and simple like you are describing and then - maybe, just maybe - the dream can be realised...
