A dab of Dub

Nilpferd alerted me to this song--Armagideon Time, by Willie Williams, used in the Jarmusch movie Ghost Dog. I was very excited to discover that Jackie Mittoo is playing on it. And here's a nice long dub version by the Clash, as well as a song with a similar name by Mikey Dread, as well as a Lee Perry song for Frogprincess's fishy dinner.

Justice Tonight/Kick it Over--The Clash
Armagiddeon Style--Mikey Dread
Roast Fish and Cornbread--Lee Scratch Perry

And Nilpferd, I keep forgetting to say I have some CDs almost ready to go...Hopefully I'll make it to the PO on Monday. Don't know why these things always take me so long.

It was the bass and organ which really caught my ear in Ghost Dog.. a great track, nice trombone too.

Really enjoyed The Clash dub as well.. perfectly balanced, very nice keyboards and atmospherics, fantastic drumming and I love that glockenspiel thing too..

listening to the rest right now.. looking forward to the CDs, I can use some diversions at the moment..

mmm.. Roast fish...

I have always loved Armagideon Time.

When I lived in Notting Hill, it was one of the numbers that the local sound systems used to play a lot.
