The First Exciting Newness Of 2008

First off was Noah And The Whale, who count among their members Laura Marling, whose video is second.
Laura has just released her album, and Noah and The Whale's due in a few months.

(oh, and Frightened Rabbit are going to release a tremendous LP if their new track The Modern Leper is anything to go by, which can be downloaded legally and free  here)

A great pair of quirky vids, Blimpo.
BTW, I see LM is single of the week (i.e.free) on iTunes, with Night Terror.
Can't get the FR track to download, but it did play, and very fine it is too (I like Scots singers who sound Scots, as does King Creosote). Keep 'em coming...

LM seems to be flavour of the month. Should I buy?

I think she has a depth and an interesting take on things, as well as very interesting song structures.

I still need to get the record tho'!

I didn't realise she was all the rage, I only read one GU article which linked to her videos...

I found her album in zavvi (formerly virgin megastore) - £24!!!!

Yes, it may come in a huge box, with a gig ticket inside, but still!

I think i'll wait for the normal edition to be released (£8 off amazon) ....
