Great selection by the way. I've been having a bit of a belle and sebastian day today - i was capturing some footage at work that didn't have sound , so i could listen to "tigermilk" at the time (and to think i get paid for this!!?!)
Thank you, M. Blimpy. Capturing footage? Steenbeck? Avid? Mac? What is your dreamy job, exactly? If you can't tell I'd understand, because personally I spend all day in an undisclosed location with Dick Cheney and it's all very hush hush. Shit, did I just...
I've got a lot of them, goneforeign. For some reason they appeal to me. I like the fonts and the way in which they get worn. I don't think they're copper--the blue ones are painted, and it's just some sort of standard industrial paint, I suppose, but I love that Tintin-ish color of blue. I bet they have some interesting covers wherever in the world all the RRers are.
I would have bet on cast iron or steel, but the blue makes it look like copper which doesn't make any sense, I then thought it might be bronze which is an alloy of copper and tin. Whatever they're very interesting, nice pictures. Wonder why they paint 'em.

Ms.Steen, you make me laugh, but I'd like to email you independent of the Spill, is there any way...
My email is anthonybrennan@comcast.net
You changed the picture, I was intrigued with that and was going to ask you what it was, looks like copper which is an odd material for a drain cover.

Good idea - I'll start looking for Scottish ones.
