I'm afraid this weekend has seen my brain frazzled and a little non-plussed by the topic, but I found this long-forgotten gem whilst searching for my Frazier Chorus collection and thought it almost apt...
I had considered posting Elvis' demo version, but listening to them both, I realised there was only one choice. And I'd be the last in the queue for a TVV revival!
Blimey, that's shockingly bad! Elvis Costello went down in my estimation after trying to rehabilitate her. The boys in 6th form really did appreciate that appearance on TotP with the flapper dress, stockings and beret though. Tsh.
I fully agree DsD, but have an inexplicable soft spot for these 4 Marianne Faithful-lite minutes.
TK - sorry you're not in favour, but I thought Elv's rehabilitative venture one of his few achievements during a decidedly lacklustre 90s. And please, don't get me started on 'Painted From Memory', an album that I find entirely unlistenable...God Give Me Strength indeed!
Isn't that strange scary - I would have thought that we had fairly similar tastes but I love Painted From Memory and would even consider it a desert island candidate! This House Is Empty Now is lyrically outstanding: "Were you really so unhappy then? You never said." If a better line has ever been written about men's inability to understand what women are really thinking, I'd like to hear it.
I persevered with its cumbersome melodic shifts and Elv's strained vocals, but gave up after a few weeks. It was nowhere to be seen as I scoured my cd collection during the weekend's Frazierhunt, but when it turns up, I promise to give it another try.

Lovely song scary but I don't think the world is quite ready for a Transvision Vamp revival!
Well spotted, TB!

Now with added Wendy image...

TvV should've quit after Baby I Don't Care ... in fact they should've quit immediately after WJ's ace scream at the BEGINNING of Baby I Don't Care !!

Perhaps it's time for a scaryreappraisal, TB.
