Cheese!

I was listening to the radio today and this came on. Now, I simply adore this song even those I know it is a terribly cheesy power ballad.

So, my question is, are there cheesy power ballads that any of you like?

Even more. Not only do I love the song, written by the Queen of the power ballad, Diane Warren, but I love the video and I even like the film too!

Sad or what?

Just edited this to include this gem;

Go on then, I'll admit to Chicago's "If you leave me now". Cheese Grommit!

Does 'Easy Like Sunday Morning' count - if so, confession...

I've just seen that it's Aerosmith that you've posted. Love the song and I liked the film a lot too. Now a lot of people think that Ben Affleck should be smacked regularly round the jaw. But he seems like a really nice bloke. I'm assuming you all know the 'f_cking Ben Affleck' joke video and will only post it if anyone hasn't seen it. I was kind of sure that it was 'Wind beneath my wings' that you'd posted and since I'm in a very good mood I'll admit to secretly liking that too.

My favourite cheesy power ballads:

"Alone" - Heart

"More Than A Feeling" - Boston

"Every Rose Has Its Thorn" - Poison

"For Lovers" - Wolfman

More than a feeling

Love it, more cheesy than a camembert stall in a Normandy market!

I think now that FP has admitted carrying a torch for Wind beneath my wings I can safely admit to liking Jennifer Warnes and Bill Medley's I've Had The Time of My Life but then again Dirty Dancing works on so many cheesy levels its not true.

Total Eclipse of the Heart does it every time for me.

Donds for "Alone" because it reminds me of when I first fell in love with my husband some 15 years before we finally got together...

I just lurve 80s american power ballads, and I see that there's such an LP being advertised on telly at the moment. Can't wait!

REO Speedwagon - Keep on loving you
Babys - Isn't it time
Journey - Don't stop believing
Starship - We built this city
Bonnie Tyler - Total Eclipse of the Heart
Berlin - Take my breath away

That'll do for now...

More Aerosmith: "Dream On" and "Pink"

If we are talking Starship there is Nothing's gonna stop us now

Brilliant

Can I put in a nod for Whitesnake's Is This Love? and John Farnham's The Voice? What's that Fleetwood Mac one from that sort of era? Something about a house on the hill?

Hello there, its m' first 'spill comment!!! Yay!! And its on my secret specialist subject...

Tip top of the list is Meat Loaf's version of 'Surf's Up' which Jim Steinman originally recorder himself. In. Credible.

Then:

'Love Walked In' Thunder
'Rosanna' Toto
'Alone' Heart
'Keep on Loving You'
And 'The Voice' is a great shout.

Uplifting.
