Forever Heavy

Righto, I've had enough of podbean - so it's time to try something new!

Let's see what happens with the below tune, click the play button to listen to it (you will still be able to scroll about the site), and click the link if you really like what you hear:

I got some other kind of player (yahoo, maybe?) How'd you do that?

Interesting, can you make playlists?

For podbean, I just type the first couple of letters of my user name, and the one that ends in "/admin" takes me to my dashboard. But this boxstr looks cool, I'll give it a go later.

looks good blimpy, the 5Gb limit is also attractive..

Okay; the combination of Boxstr and the yahoo player seems to be working!

The advantage of boxstr is you can get 5 gig for free, and here's the important bit: you can hot link to those tracks (by clicking the "just the direct urls" button once you've uploaded) which means they can slot nicely into the yahoo player. Nearly all free file hosting sites don't offer hotlinking.

The other advantage is that folk can download the mp3s directly if they wish, which isn't possible on podbean/deezer and involves a lot of faffing about on the other free file hosting sites (having to wade thru multiple screens and suffer count-downs etc)

That works on Linux too. It opened up a Yahoo player.

I may have to investigate this further.

I finally got Podbean working again, the 'playlist' menu reappeared. I'd given up on it and told them so and switched to Yahoo/Boxstr and rebuilt this post on those but when I went to post it here it didn't go; OK, so back to the drawing board. Hope the new Corina's are of interest.

Blimpy: Can we just stuff all that sheriff stuff into a folder and stick it on the side for reference, it takes up far too much of our space and it reeks with bad vibes.

@gf, I'll try and tuck half of it away, although over the course of the last few days it has become our 4th most popular blog entry ever!

Has any one else had any luck with the boxtr/yahoo player set-up?

Blimpy, it was only 'popular' cos it pissed us all off so much...
