When Love Is A Four Letter Word

.

This week's RR topic is not a subject I like to contemplate too deeply, actually!

Here's a short playlist that starts with the Terry Evans heartbreaking tune we've decided probably doesn't fit, and then works its way from TE's doldrums into ever more choppy waters.

Terry Evans - That's The Way Love Turned Out For Me
Was (Not Was) - Love Can Be Bad Luck
Terraplane - Couldn't Handle The Tears
Damien Rice - Rootless Tree
Drive-By Truckers - Feb 14
Van Halen - Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love

It's the Diamond Dave soundboard!! Try pressing one at a time, then go mental and press lots of them all at once!!!

Have you read DLR's autobiog? It's the best (music) book ever written!!

Aw now that's BLOOMIN' FANTASTIC, Blimpy. I'm trying to download it as I type. It could almost cheer me up from my football-induced mood ... Blue Monday indeed. Pah!

And do you mean DLR's Crazy From The Heat? Oh yeah, I've got that. Typical extract:

Dave gets invited into an small club, loads of beautiful women all keen on conversation ...
"Wow, you're fascinating. What's your name?"
"Heidi. This is my place, and this is my business partner Victoria. You're welcome here anytime.
"Great."
I came back the next weekend, had a great time. The third time I came back, somebody [finally told] me that this was a menu, not a guest list. I had no idea! I suddenly became aware of who Heidi was. Yeah I knew Heidi Fleiss, but I didn't inhale.

DLR is total legend, and his book is so amazing that I want to cry.

I love the fact that Diamond Dave NEVER TURNED 30, cos he deliberately took flights back the way across timezones to avoid it!!

I love the fact that he spanked the chick with the hairbrush as she asked, and then got all paranoid that he was going to jail!!

And also his claims that he pretty much invented nearly every genre of music (inc. rap) AND THAT HE'S PROBABLY RIGHT!

Do you think it;s available as a talking book?
