I think that's actually a real episode. Whether or not it was broadcast is another matter. Awesome.

Think this was taped for an ITV Christmas party & never intended for public consumption.

Thankyou, Thankyou. I'd heard of this legendary episode but never seen it. Now I can die happy.

Brilliant. Reminds me of the time Uncle Mac ended Children's Hour on the wireless (not realizing the mike was still on) with "That should keep the little bastards quiet for another week". He was fired.

Also reminds me of when I had media training a few years ago from a senior BBC foreign correspondent (who's name is withheld to protect the guilty). He showed me a great video tape of outtakes, which will probably never appear on "It'll be alright on the night". Most notably, John Major's post-interview interview with Michael Brunson, berating the 'f***ing bastards" in his own Cabinet. And a classic vignette of the pompous twat John Sergeant, holding an umbrella in the pouring rain in Parliament Square, trying to do a piece to camera. After muffing his lines several times, he barks "That's it, I'm not f***ing doing it", and turns and strides off. The way the camera lingered on him as he disappeared into the distance spoke volumes about the contempt the camera crew felt...
