This is Radio Abahachi

Abahachi venture once more into strange land of new technology. Abahachi and faithful cat Amber ramble inconsequentially with occasional music. Abahachi wonder if this will work. Amber adopt highly symbolic position in bin bag. Abahachi disappear on holiday before fallout arrives. Leb wohl!

This is Radio Abahachi

Hooray for another podcast!

I'm going to take it on holiday with me, so I won't post a response for about 10 days, but jolly good show anyways!!!!

(can someone water the blog for me while I'm away, and don't forget to feed the mp3 robots!!)

Well that was for me the most interesting go so far, not to be critical of any of the earlier pods but it's to each his own and this one connected.
But if you think you can lay all that out and then say "Toodle-oo, I'm off" you're off your bloody rocker, ain't no way I'm going to waste my breath if there's nobody listening. But it was good: where you going and does Amber get to go also?
Our Siamese Biko went everywhere with us.
Call us when you get back.

Off on Monday, in fact. All the cats go to jail; we're driving down to the depths of Lower Bavaria, and the thought of two days in the car with the inevitable loud and sustained complaints really doesn't seem very inviting. Mrs Abahachi and I had five years' worth of distance relationship in the past, for various domestic reasons, and our then cats travelled up and down the M4 every weekend - and believe me, two hours of disgruntled Siamese is quite enough. The neurotic dog gets to stay at home being looked after by neighbours; ditto the chickens, obviously, and the bees just have to fend for themselves.

So, three weeks with no internet access, just cycling, walking and earing Schweinshaxen and Knoedel. Very good to have no e-mail, as it means I can get away from work completely, but the lack of RR is always a problem - at Christmas, for example, I felt really bad to discover that I'd missed the birth of the LowerCaseLetter0...

Anyway, glad you liked it, GF, and glad that I seem to have persuaded the technology to co-operate enough that it was actually possible to listen to it. It was actually great fun doing it, so the experience will be repeated - possibly with a less obstreperous guest...

Have a nice holiday, a spell away from reality is probably very good for the soul and everything else. I know about the Siamese complaining nature and their yowling; Biko would usually quieten down after a while and go to sleep and would then come and sit or walk backwards and forwards on the dashboard obviously enjoying the sights, much to the amusement of fellow motorists.
Give us a full report when you return and I look forward to #2.

Fine hatchcast, abapodchi.
If I ever end up sitting in a pub with you I can imagine us getting thrown out at 4 am- you certainly throw up a few topics for (possibly endless) discussion. In a very nice way, of course.
I liked most of the tracks, the Bojan Z in particular.
Hope you have a nice holiday.

Have a good hol, Abahachi. I might have finished listening to your podcast by the time you get back!

That was interesting. All new to me except Ultravox! & they stood the test of time quite well. For some reason your delivery evoked memories of Noggin the Nog. Weird.

Wow - thanks Shoegazer. I've just Youtubed Noggin the Nog - lots of stuff. Peter Fermin's beautiful delivery took me back to my childhood. Lovely old fashioned kids' programme. He also did Bagpuss, I think. That was marvellous too. "...but Emily loved him..."

Loved it Abahachi! Thank you. Only problem with the software is that if you accidentally close down your browser while you're in the middle of listening, it closes down as well and there doesn't seem to be anyway of starting again where you left off - unless I'm missing something?

Great shout on 'Noggin the Nog, shoegazer. Definitely!

Great stuff Abahachi! Can I just hold my hand up and admit to being fooled by the opening and thinking to myself 'wow, so he's actually German...' My bad.

All stuff that's new to me, which I'm delighted about, and all stuff that helped pass a rather productive hour in front of Microsoft Word. I also loved the Bojan Z track and the bit in the improvised duet where they first of all made noises like Sooty and Sweep and then started farting at each other. Top drawer low brow!

More please, but next time maybe coat your microphone in something icky tasting...

I loved Radio Abahachi, most of it was new to me, liked the idea of the Costa scale too, and your ideas on "newness" and past greatness. I had more to say but I forgot now, anyway have a good holiday Abahachi.
