Cet Enfant Que Je T'avais Fait

Here's Cet Enfant Que Je T'avais Fait by Jacques Higelin and Brigitte Fontaine. He asks her about their second child, and she keeps on changing the subject, pretending like she doesn't hear him. It's all very calm, he keeps his cool, even when he tells her that she's careless, but you get the feeling that she can't face having lost the child, or she's crazy. In any case it's captivating.

Très beau. I like Higelin and his son, Arthur H very much. Two super chaps! A bit ambiguous about Fontaine, though. I love her voice but she's seems very eccentric. Not a crime in itself but when she was interviewed just after the death of Marie Trintignant, she was insensitive enough to comment "Ah pauvre Bertrand, quel horrible accident" which lacked sensitivity to the Trintignant family. Strange lady.

BTW Frenchy would you like to embark on a wee series of small posts with me - essential French groups - one a week? If we limit ourselves to a podbean of 5 songs and a short article on the group. There's so much good stuff to share. What do you think? Can I do Les Rita Mitsouko this week and you do one after? Any interest from the others?

I don't know enough about them, although I liked that Arthur H song in which he mentions Bo Derek. I'd heard of Barbara when she died, but that's it. That quote about Trintignant uncannily fits her character in the song.
I will join you on your journey, however, I don't know nearly enough French groups to post 5 songs, I could probably do 1 or 2.
