The Random Nature...

...of surfing the net of an evening has led me to this video clip, which - because it has an Inuit boy being chased by a flying fish - I had to share with you all.

It's also an Iggy song that I've not heard before, and quite a departure from the usual Iggy stuff.

If anyone knows anymore about this, or whether the film it represents is any good, please leave comments

It's from Arizona Dream, which is quite alright if I remember correctly, the last time I saw it was more than 10 years ago though. It's a collaboration between Iggy and Goran Bergovic, otherwise balkan music maker.

A great film. Kusturica. Loved the obsession with remaking the crop dusting scene from North by Northwest. Underground also has great music- leads into the style of Roma band I posted down below somewhere.
BTW- commiserations, EJD. (I happen to be a spurs fan)

Arizona dream--I read that Johnny Depp got Vincent Gallo to drink many shots of whiskey during the dinner scene, and Gallo didna drink.
A more brilliant movie w/ Johnny Depp y Iggy Pop--Dead Man. It's a beauty.

I found the clip on youtube where Gallo interprets the scene from NXNW - brilliant.

I vaguely remember watching Dead Man with some stoner chums, not sure if i made my way all the way through it. Time for a straight re-viewing.

Gallo is an incredible man, and I will be posting about him quite soon....

Is Arizona Dream worth seeking out?

Hmm, thanks, nilpf. You've kept that pretty quiet haven't you? I hope this only happens every nine years.
I have a song by Bregovic (I got the spelling wrong above) called Wedding, I'm not sure if it's from Arizona Dream, but it's great. It actually may be form Underground since I seem to recall a wedding scene in there.

Well, EJD, I didn't really have much reason to mention it up until now, did I? I'm not one of those rabid fans though, I've never lived in London. I like the way AFC plays. And as you predict, I'll probably be keeping quiet about it for the coming 9 years anyway. It's like one of those cactus blossoms which only appears once a decade- which brings me to Arizona Dream.. Wedding is from Underground, the music in that film was played by a balkan brass band- Bregovic's Weddings and Funerals Orchestra, I think.

Blimpy: Not wanting to seem anti-social and wot-not, I'm wondering how we go about ceceding from having our email inboxes deluged with copies of the same posts that we read here. Is it possible to not get email copies?
