A real Scottish Siren

free music

I was walking to the office with my grey-haired, extraordinarily nice German boss the other day. "I heff just heard a Scottish singer on ze radio! Great woice! Mr Rock and Roll or somezing? Who is she? Ken you get it for me?" "Um, you don't mean Amy Macdonald do you?" "Ja! ja! Genau! Die!" So my boss has become an Amy fan. Can't say I'm surprised. I know this 18 year-old Glaswegian troubadour has taken the UK by storm with her album 'This is the Life' riding at number one. My sister tlls me it's a hymn to Pete Doherty who must be feeling very chuffed at such an accomplished tribute. I'm posting the album for all you ex-pats who won't have heard her yet. Although it's only a matter of time before she goes planetary on us. My boss says so. You could do a lot worse than listen to this at your Burns supper. We will. And I officially nominate her for the soundtrack to our Scottish week-end. Unless you have other suggestions...

I'll listen later FP but scottish-german reminds me of a restaurant I was once taken to by my uncle, on the Isle of Arran- the owner was a German who'd lived there for a while.. he kept asking us "yous vant some more tatties?"

I saw this lass on TARATATA recently, but don't recall being particularly impressed by her. She was obviously very young and seemed nervous, but then she was only accompanied by one lad and they'd put him right over the other side of the studio. I can't even remember what song she sang ('twas only the one), but I'd love to listen to this and hear what all the hype is about...
Could someone please give my Fairy Godmother a wink, I'm slowly going mad not being able to get at all the music on here - S.O.S. Radical Technical Makeover! ASAP!

Dear ejaydee,
Thanks for the tip. I have been following all your technical difficulties with deezes and pods and the like with absolute fascination. My problem is merely a computer on its last legs - can't cope with a sound card, can barely load this site to be honest.
Once my Fairy Godmother has visited and all is well, I'll be listening to music on here 24/7 (which doesn't bode too well for the needs of my children now I think about it)...

I dunno, I'm still struggling with the ideological critique of the "Mr Multicultural" verse...
