Mac + Boxstr + Zipped playlist = 0kb

Can someone help me over this technological wall? I've tried to zip a load of mp3s on my trusty Mac and unstuff them on Boxstr, because it says it wants zip files, not sitx or owt like that. It uploads them, unstuffs them… and gives me a mass of 0kb files. Has anyone else had the same problem, and could you get around it? I was using the "Create archive of x items" feature under the File menu.

Boxstr wants mp3s not zips - or it does when I'm using it.

Boxtr wants zips to avoid storing potentially malicious file types. That's probably why it won't unpack them for you, as a zip file could contain anything.

The Yahoo player supports xspf files for complete playlists, but haven't tried this & don't know if Boxtr allows these files.

Prof, there's an option when you upload files – under the "My documents" list – for "Extract zip files". It tries to unpack them, as all of the names appear, but gives me a memory size of 0kb for all files.

"Playlist" is a bit of a red herring, possibly. I'd stuffed all of the mp3s for the homonyms list I did, as I didn't fancy uploading them all individually on my (not particularly fast) connection.

If your zip file contains only mp3 files, I would open a support ticket with Boxtr. Other file types might not be supported as mentioned above.

I forked out for the upgrade and just upload mp3s. Tend to take the old files down after a week or so, before the search robots find 'em. Don't mind sharing stuff with the 'Spill family, who will go out and buy more of what they like. Draw the the line at providing an illegal service for freeloading strangers.

Oh, & I find the desktop app faster & more stable than the Boxtr webpage.

I was interested in the desktop app, too – the absence of a progress bar is a real oversight, Boxstr people – but I don't think there's a Mac version.

Anyway, that Hallowe'en playlist is amazing, Shoey.

This isn't probably relevant to anything here but I finally gave up on Boxstr on the weekend after spending another wasted hour trying to make it work. That was about my third go and all the help notes did little to make it easier. I'm amazed that it's so popular here and that there are those who started on Podbean and switched. I've got half a dozen posts lurking at the back of my mind, some even started, so I think I'm going to pop for the first upgrade at Podbean and see how much more that will give me; it does say it allows 'bulk uploading' so that should help with the larger posts.
