goodbye

hey ya all...
this has been the best way of keeping me sane..

RR started when my son was about 7 month old, I worked away and came back on Fridays.. had to get the paper to see the list and stayed up rocking my un-sleeping son to give the (amazing) ms sane a brake....he only slept for 2 hours at a time taking after me...due to this I've tried to learn how a computer works...found all the songs in my collection that I hadn't realized were so great, have purchased so many more..found another obsession...and got back into doing artwork.

I so love peoples selections each week, listen to as many as possible while chasing the now 3 year old around and subjecting him to all your tastes in music (so much better than at nursery..)

Cheers Dorian and thanks for being the link.

I've tried to make some of these music related..or just my feelings for goodbyes..
and stuff that hit me on RR
(track 11 is for Maddy welcome to the helm)
hope some are enjoyable.
shane.

I sedond GF's admiration for the illustration - it's beautifully done (as was your earlier picture). Do you do designy things for a living?
Looking forward to listening to the playlist when I get a moment...

Shane: I've resisted buying a decent digital SLR for many years, all I use these days is a tiny Canon SD 400 which has one huge advantage, it fits in a pocket easily. I've used Nikons all my life and I keep looking at their high end stuff but I always come back to asking "Why, what would I use it for?" I've got many thousands of slides so I've invested in a Nikon slide scanner and spend a fair bit of time doing that; I re-live hundreds of memories sorting through my files. Thanks for the interest.

Great picture. And the list of songs are the kind that get me in trouble for too much dondage over on RR. Don't know which to choose...

shane: so you know my town well, then, as I live in Bournemouth. I have a mate in Canada who studied art here - says he spent all his time in The Seagull...

How is the view out of your window (have they finished that god awful building yet on the sea front ?)..guessing from your first pictures on here you are just down the road from the seagull! walked up from the pier with my newborn so many times.

Goat and Tricycle on the other side of town for me..in the student days upstairs playing pool at the Gander.

I suspect I might live in the 'godawful building'!! But it does have lovely sea views. Or maybe, if you've been here recently, you mean the one right on the prom, which is still under construction? But I suspect you mean my block, because it doesn't sound as if you've been here recently, since the Seagull is now a block of flats, too. But the Goat & Tricycle is as nice as ever...

No not your building..the one on the prom..we were down last August and amazingly shocked by the building site..I guess you don't look to the left any more!!
As for the Seagull, had just forgot.. so much is changing around there..I wanted to keep our flat for when the reef is constructed..but I would have had to work too hard...it is such a great part of the world, even if the town planners have no idea.
