MASH IT UP!

Well here's an alternate mash-up, this one is an all star band: you've got Miles and Chet dueting, with Coltrane poking in there briefly, The rhythm section is the MJQ and Oscar Peterson with Illinois Jacquet on bassoon, the Gotan project's in there also as is an opening and closing theme by Salif Keita.
Mash up or Mess up?

Spacey! I'm surprised the drums and bass don't clash. Did you loop some of it?

None, I just shifted it 'til it sounded close.

I think it makes for a very interesting piece of music, what did you use to splice the elements together?

There's no splices, I just lined all the cuts up in Audacity, shuffled to make 'em sound approx right, did two premixes, and then mixed the lot together.
It was a first attempt, I even had to go to Wiki to find out what a 'mash-up' is. It was inspired by your comments of yesterday, it's not close to what I started out intending to do, it just evolved out of iTunes. If I'd wanted to break the pieces up and layer them it could have been a lot cleaner, as is it's pretty messy but that was all the time I wanted to devote to it.
Can you import from iTunes into Garageband, I tried that way but couldn't see how to do it.

I think it sounds like the Panthallassa remixes a bit.
GF: remember how to import media in iMovie? It works the same with GarageBand.

or you can drag and drop from one to the other.

I've never used iMovie either, could you give me a hint?
