Such is the power of music that we can care so much for a fellow blogger most of us have never met. Kettle's on day and night at RR for you Mitch.
Thinking of you and yours Mitch. With all kind thoughts.
I cannot add anything. My thoughts are with you Mitch.
i was on the spill last night for half an hour, savouring the madness when i was supposed to be working, but went to bed before this was posted. dear mitch, i've been wondering how things have been with you. there's lots of south londoners on here, me included, and if you need any help at any time, just shout - we'll all come running. take care of yourself xx
Thinking of you Mitch.
the family here send their hugs and thoughts to you and yours Mitch.
Very very sorry to hear the news, RockingMitch.
I haven't been on the list recently, Rocking Mitch, but I can only guess at the news from this, and I am deeply, deeply sorry. My thoughts are with you.Adam K
I'm pretty terrible at this sort of thing. There's a character in Anthony Powell who says of himself, "I never know the right moment to squeeze the bereaved's arm at a funeral", and that's me. Of course there aren't any words that can make this better; we fall back on the old standards because it's important to say something, to show that our thoughts really are with you. Heartfelt condolences.
I hope that you can take comfort from the good wishes of friendly strangers, Mitch, because there are an awful lot out here, mine included. And from music, of course.
Thinking of you Mitch. Manly hugs from Budapest at this time of bereavement. We're all at your side, I think so.
Love and warm thoughts and condolences from this side of the Atlantic, too, Mitch.
Mitch: I'll go along with Chris, I'm another friendly stranger who feels for you.....T.
So sorry to hear this sad news Mitch. Adding my thoughts to the collective wave of empathy.
Love and warm feelings of sympathy from myself and ToffeeGirl to you mitch. Rock on ...
Not much to add except much love from us here too xxx
@ DsD - just listening to the Natalie Merchant song and trying to watch the slide show through decidedly damp eyes. People shouldn't be allowed to write such beautifully, sad, poignant songs. Fantastic choice ...
Our deepest sympathies, Mitch, and heartfelt condolences. I can't say it any better than anyone above me, but know that all these people feel enough to say it so well.
For John91, and anyone else who comes here looking: RockingMitch's wife was diagnosed with cancer a little while ago, and she has just died.
Thanks treefrogdemon, terrible news, nothing anyone can really say to make it any better but my deepest condolences to RockingMitch and famiy.
just to add more friendly stranger condolences from us too, sorry to hear the news Mitch
@DsD - This song is unbearably beautiful. I didn't know it. (My ignorance knows no bounds. My wife, who, as I think you know, is ill, has always been charmed by the English endearment "beloved" and has worn a small tag on a necklace with this word engraved on it for the last twenty five years. Thank you for this song. It is beautiful.
Sincere condolencies - you are most welcome at Gremlin Manor for some tea should you ever venture up to steel City - you are in my thoughts.
condolences & sympathy from me too... from Holland, Ton "TonNL" Bukkems
I can only echo what's been said earlier, Mitch. Hope our sympathy and condolences can help in some way.
@ Maki - "ill", but on the mend, I thought ...? Hope so. My Beloved Wife is from Natalie Merchant's solo debut album, Tigerlily, which I love so much I bought the CD twice. Fantastic album. @ everyone - I have had a thank you from Mitch for all of our thoughts and wishes, both here and over on the mothership. G'night all.
All my sympathy Mitch. So sorry.
My deepest condolences Mitch.
