Back At Last - The Very Best!

I first blogged about Esau Mwamwaya way back in March last year.
Which even attracted a comment from his producer! Anyhoos, since then, he released one of the albums/mixtapes of last year (for free) and is now back as The Very Best with a new tune and LP on the way. "Warm Heart Of Africa" also features the dude out of Vampire Weekend, who is put into the shade somewhat when Esau starts singing. As usual, it's an uplifting mash of old and new, and as usual it's jolly good! Bodes well for the album proper, and if anyone can tell me what he's singing, that would be a bonus.

He's singing about how warm-hearted Africa is?

Is this track by Warm Heart of Toto by any chance?

I miss Toto - what do you think they're up to?

Rehearsing for the RR social on 18 July of course - or was that supposed to be a secret?

Damn ...

I think they are still going strong, I'm sure I saw them in the Tokyo listings just a few short months ago. I think they are pretty "big" over here, but nowhere near as big as Mr. Big, who are cherished by the Japanese and regularly sell-out huge arenas....just checked the listings mag, and they in fact played the massive Nippon Budokan on Saturday....no sign of Toto though...

btw, I loved loved loved this track! Hope the new album is free too

i'm expecting the Very best LP to be lacking all the full-scale sample robbery they pulled off on their mixtape, which will be a shame. If there's a song like "Dinosaur On The Ark" on there, I'll be happy.

frightening stuff eh blimp?

you do imagine Esau will be watered down.. but still can't wait to hear it... dinosaur on the ark will be a lot to live up to.
